Irish Splendor

I love any holiday where there are "themed" parties, decorated stores, special cookies, cakes and drinks. St. Patrick's Day is no different. I love making sure I wear green and grabbing an Irish coffee or even a green beer at the local bar or restaurant. It is festive and fun!

All over the world people celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Of course Ireland, but did you know dozens of other countries observe it as well?

Even Down Under goes green for St. Patty’s Day. The Sydney Opera House is lit with green lights during St Patrick's Day celebrations.

In London, thousands line the street at Trafalgar Square to watch the parade. Every year London hosts a St Patrick's Day Parade with marching bands, floats, street theatre and more.

In Tokyo, thousands of people participate the St. Patrick's Day parade. It is called the Takayama Festival.

Of course, Chicago is famous for their St. Patrick's Day traditions. Workers dye Chicago River green as part of the city's annual St Patrick's day celebrations. The story behind why they do this every year is great! Click to read the story!

In New York City, over 250,000 march in the annual St. Patrick's Day parade. The New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade is our country’s oldest and proudest Irish tradition.

In Moscow, the celebrate in the Red Square on New Arbat Street with dancing and music. The holiday originally celebrated by the Irish community in the Russian capital has found large support among Muscovites.

With about 10,000 spectators, the Munich St. Patrick's Day Parade in Germany is one of the largest outside Ireland.

And finally, Ireland. They have a four day St. Patrick's Day festival. About 400,000 people attend the parades during the four day festival. The Irish Pubs are packed with locals and tourists.
The Irish Pubs in Ireland are so unique, the vibe - the banter - the people, foods and fires. Irish pubs all across Ireland are really good places to party until the early hours, dance and go wild, watch live hurling, Gaelic football & rugby or just to relax over a tasty home cooked Irish meal. Hear local stories and meet a plethora of people in and around the Irish Pubs of Ireland!

So, have fun and be safe today! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
